North Haven police seek driver after German Shepherd killed in hit-and-run

NORTH HAVEN — A black German Shepherd was struck and killed early this morning on Hartford Turnpike, according to North Haven Police Department officials.

At approximately 7:40 a.m., the 2-year-old dog was hit in the area of 1650 Hartford Turnpike by what is believed to be a white Ford pickup truck or SUV.

The vehicle was traveling north and failed to stop after the incident.

Police are seeking assistance from the public in locating the suspect vehicle, which is expected to have sustained front-end damage.

Officer Capozzo is urging anyone with information or video footage of the incident to come forward.

The North Haven Police Department is asking for the community’s help to find the responsible party.
