Motorcyclist killed in Route 101 crash in Candia

CANDIA — A motorcyclist is dead after a single-vehicle crash on Route 101 on Saturday evening.

State Troopers from the Troop A barracks were called to the scene near Candia around 6:30 p.m. June 1, where they discovered an adult male and a 2004 Harley Davidson motorcycle on the roadway.

The deceased has been identified as Ralph Cummings, 44, from Newmarket.

According to the preliminary investigation, Cummings was speeding eastbound when he lost control of his motorcycle, causing it to fishtail and crash within the travel lanes.

Cummings, who was not wearing a helmet, died from his injuries at the crash site.

No passengers were involved, and no other vehicles were reported to have been a part of the incident.

Candia Police Department, Raymond Police Department, Candia Fire and Rescue, Auburn Fire Department, and Precision Towing & Recovery assisted the state troopers.

As the investigation continues, authorities are seeking information from any witnesses.
