Holyoke shooting leaves one dead, police investigating

HOLYOKE — A shooting in front of 414 High Street has left one person dead, prompting an investigation by local and state authorities, officials said Saturday.

The incident occurred at approximately 2:10 a.m. on June 1, when Holyoke Police Department responded to reports of gunfire.

Upon arrival, officers discovered a victim who had sustained fatal gunshot wounds.

Detectives from the Massachusetts State Police, assigned to the Hampden County District Attorney’s Office, are assisting the Holyoke Police in the homicide investigation.

Authorities have not yet released information regarding suspects or the identity of the victim.

The police urge anyone with information about the shooting to come forward and assist in the ongoing investigation.
