POWNAL — Vermont State Police took a local woman into custody on a warrant related to a retail theft incident after investigating a separate theft complaint at the Ladd Brook Inn.
Tara Barber, 45, was detained on June 1 following the May 31 investigation, authorities said.
The warrant for Barber’s arrest was already active when police arrived at the inn located at 05261 Ladd Brook Inn in Pownal to look into the theft complaint.
After her arrest, Barber was processed at the Bennington Police Department.
She was later released on a citation and is scheduled to answer to the charge on June 3 at 12:30 p.m.
