Boston police investigate fatal shooting on Edson Street

BOSTON — Boston Police Department detectives are conducting a death investigation following a shooting incident late Friday night at 36 Edson Street in the Mattapan neighborhood.

At approximately 11:17 p.m., officers assigned to District B-3 responded to reports of a person shot at the aforementioned location.

Upon arrival, they discovered an adult female with gunshot wounds.

The victim was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries and was later pronounced dead.

Authorities are actively piecing together the details of the shooting.
