SPRINGFIELD — A local woman was arrested early Saturday morning after Springfield police responded to a reported domestic dispute on Chester Road.

Officers arrived at the scene around 2:20 a.m. and following an investigation, determined that Emilee Butler had allegedly strangled another individual, causing bodily harm.

Butler was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Springfield Police Department for processing.

Butler has been issued a criminal citation to appear in Vermont Superior Court, Criminal Division Windsor Unit on Monday to face a charge of first-degree aggravated domestic assault.

Following her arrest, she was lodged at the Southern State Correctional Facility.

The Springfield Police Department clarified that decisions regarding bail and incarceration are managed by the judiciary, not the police.
