Peabody police nab two juveniles in shooting case

PEABODY — Two juveniles have been arrested in connection with a shooting on Littles Lane earlier this month, the Peabody Police Department announced Wednesday.

The suspects, whose names have not been released due to their age, were taken into custody on arrest warrants from Salem Juvenile Court for their alleged roles in the May 21 incident.

They face multiple charges, including six counts of assault to murder and five counts of assault to murder with a firearm.

Peabody Police Chief Griffin praised the collaboration and dedication of the officers and detectives involved in the case, as well as the assistance from the District Attorney’s Office, Massachusetts State Police, and the NEMLEC SWAT team, which helped ensure the safe capture of the juveniles.

Both individuals are scheduled for arraignment at Salem Juvenile Court, where they will also face charges for destruction of property and malicious damage to a motor vehicle.

Chief Griffin emphasized the police department’s ongoing commitment to community safety and said the investigation will continue with the utmost diligence.
