Motorcycle rider killed in Manchester crash, teen driver unharmed

MANCHESTER — A collision between a car and a motorcycle in Manchester on May 29 left a 68-year-old man dead and a teenage driver unscathed, police said.

The Manchester Police Department responded to the scene at the intersection of Union St and Willow St around 7:05 p.m. after receiving reports of a motor vehicle crash.

Officers discovered a blue 2016 Ford Escape and a black 2019 Honda motorcycle involved in the incident.

The Ford was operated by a 16-year-old male from Chester, who did not sustain injuries.

The motorcycle was driven by Christopher Leitz, 68, of Merrimack, who succumbed to his injuries from the crash.

Authorities closed the roadway for a period while they processed the scene.

The road has since been reopened.

The Manchester Police Department Traffic Unit is investigating the cause of the crash.
