Brookfield man arrested on drug charges linked to homicide case

BROOKFIELD — Vermont State Police apprehended 57-year-old Joseph Lumbra on May 29, charging him with possession of cocaine, trafficking cocaine, trafficking fentanyl, and conspiracy.

Lumbra, a Brookfield resident, was arrested at the same residence where a homicide occurred, concluding an investigation that began on May 12 last year.

Following the arrest, an authorized court official ordered Lumbra to be held, setting bail at $25,000, either cash or surety.

He is scheduled for arraignment at the Vermont Superior Court, Orange Criminal Division, at 9 a.m. on May 30.
