Three arrested in separate incidents by Rhode Island State Police

LINCOLN — Rhode Island State Police announced the arrest of three individuals following traffic stops and an accident in Lincoln and Cranston.

At 11 a.m., troopers apprehended Francis I. Olasanoye, 58, of Johnston, Rhode Island, for counterfeiting registration plates, providing false documents to an official, and obstructing a police officer after pulling over his vehicle on Great Road in Lincoln.

Olasanoye was processed at the State Police Lincoln Woods Barracks and later faced a judge at Sixth Division District Court.

Later in the day, at 5:24 p.m., Owen Piper, 26, of Dartmouth, Massachusetts, was arrested for driving under the influence of intoxicating liquor and/or drugs with a BAC unknown, refusal to submit to a chemical test, and refusal to submit to a preliminary breath test.

His arrest followed a vehicle accident on Route 95 in Cranston.

Piper was processed at the Lincoln Woods Barracks, arraigned by a Justice of the Peace, and released to a responsible adult.

Early in the morning, at 2:50 a.m., Leilani A. Francisco, 24, of Cranston, was taken into custody for possession of a Schedule I-V controlled substance (Fentanyl) less than 10 grams, and driving after suspension of her license for the fourth or subsequent offense.

The arrest was the outcome of a vehicle stop on Route 95 in Providence.

Francisco was processed at the Lincoln Woods Barracks, arraigned by a Justice of the Peace, and released with a summons to appear in Sixth Division District Court.
