Woonsocket man arrested for forgery warrant after traffic stop

LINCOLN — Troopers from the Scituate Barracks arrested a Woonsocket man on an outstanding warrant for forgery and counterfeiting charges Monday afternoon.

Jean Rivera Maurent, 40, was taken into custody at 3:30 p.m. following a motor vehicle stop on Route 99 in the Town of Lincoln.

Rivera Maurent, of 272 Front Street, was wanted on a Sixth District Court Bench Warrant for Failure to Appear for Arraignment on the original charge of Forgery and Counterfeiting of Registration Plates, which originated from the Traffic Safety Unit.

Following the arrest, Rivera Maurent was transported to the State Police Headquarters for processing.

He was later turned over to the Adult Correctional Facility- Men’s Intake.
