Westmoreland UTV crash injures one

WESTMORELAND — New Hampshire Fish and Game Department Conservation Officers are investigating a UTV crash that occurred on a private trail in Westmoreland on Sunday, May 26, at around 3 p.m.

John Ulam, 38, of West Chesterfield, was operating his UTV with one passenger when he struck a stump at low speed, causing the vehicle to roll onto its side.

Ulam sustained non-life-threatening injuries in the incident.

Emergency response teams from Chesterfield Fire and Rescue, Spofford Fire and Rescue, Chesterfield Police Department, New Hampshire Fish and Game, and Rescue Inc.

Ambulance Service were dispatched to the scene.

Rescue Inc. transported Ulam to Brattleboro Memorial Hospital in Vermont for treatment.

Following the accident, New Hampshire Fish and Game issued a reminder to all off-highway recreational vehicle operators to be aware of conditions and potential hazards, to operate within personal limits, and to always use safety equipment.
