Two arrested in separate incidents by Rhode Island State Police

HOPE VALLEY — Rhode Island State Police have arrested two individuals following separate incidents, including a road rage altercation and a bench warrant for sexual assault.

At 1:07 p.m. Monday, troopers took Robert Gailey Jr., 39, of North Kingstown into custody on charges of felony assault by use of a device similar in appearance to a firearm and disorderly conduct.

The arrest occurred after troopers investigated a road rage incident at 561 South County Trail in Exeter.

Gailey was processed at the Hope Valley Barracks, arraigned by a Justice of the Peace, and released with a scheduled appearance in Fourth District Court.

Later that day, at 4:36 p.m., troopers apprehended Luis Corporan, 28, of Providence, on a Providence Superior Court bench warrant for failing to appear at a pretrial conference on an original charge of third-degree sexual assault from the Pawtucket Police Department.

The arrest was made following a motor vehicle stop on Route 95 North in Hopkinton.

Corporan was processed at the Hope Valley Barracks before being transferred to the Adult Correctional Institute – Men’s Intake Center.
