Providence man arrested for larceny, receiving stolen goods

NEWPORT — A Providence man was arrested late Friday night on multiple charges including larcity and conspiracy following a barracks investigation.

At 11:35 p.m., Rhode Island State Troopers took Michael P. Beaumier, 59, into custody at his residence on 46 Garfield Avenue, Floor 3, Providence.

Beaumier faces charges of larceny greater than $1,500 but less than $5,000, receiving stolen goods within the same value range, and conspiracy.

Following his arrest, Beaumier was transported to the State Police – Lincoln Woods Barracks for processing.

He was held overnight and is scheduled for arraignment Saturday morning at the Third Division District Court.

In a separate incident early Saturday, at 1:54 a.m., Jason Derisier, 27, from Cranston, was arrested on Branch Avenue in Providence.

Derisier is charged with driving under the influence of intoxicating liquor and/or drugs – first offense, and refusal to submit to a chemical test – also a first offense.

Troopers brought Derisier to the State Police – Lincoln Woods Barracks, where he was processed.

He was arraigned by a Justice of the Peace and subsequently released into the custody of a responsible adult.

Derisier received a notice to appear in Sixth Division District Court.
