Newington pedestrian struck, seriously injured in late-night crash

NEWINGTON — A pedestrian was struck and seriously injured by a vehicle at the intersection of Richard Street and Willard Avenue on Monday night, police said.

The Newington Police Department reported that the incident occurred at approximately 9:30 p.m. Officers who responded to the scene found the injured pedestrian, who was then transported by ambulance to a local hospital for treatment.

Authorities stated that the driver of the vehicle involved in the accident stayed at the scene and cooperated with the subsequent police investigation.

The Mid-State Accident Reconstruction Squad has taken charge of the investigation to determine the cause and circumstances of the crash.

As the investigation continues, the Newington Police Department is reaching out to the community for assistance.
