Providence woman arrested for failing to appear in court on fraud charges

PROVIDENCE — A Providence woman was arrested early Thursday morning after a traffic stop led to the discovery of an outstanding warrant for her failure to appear in court on fraud charges.

Elizabeth Green, 43, of 460 Pine Street, was taken into custody at 2:52 a.m. following a motor vehicle stop on Branch Avenue.

Rhode Island State Troopers from the Lincoln Woods Barracks executed the arrest after determining Green had an active Full Bench Warrant issued by the Providence Superior Court.

The warrant for Green’s arrest was for Failure to Appear for Disposition on the original charge of Obtaining Property by False Pretenses.

The charge originated from the East Providence Police Department.

Following her arrest, Green was processed at the State Police – Lincoln Woods Barracks.

She was subsequently turned over to the Adult Correctional Institution – Women’s Intake Center.
