Man arrested for threatening with box cutter in Nashua

NASHUA — The Nashua Police Department arrested 40-year-old Philip Mello, of no fixed address, for criminal threatening with a deadly weapon, a Class B felony.

On May 25, officers responded to an address on Palm Street following reports that Mello had threatened to kill a victim with a box cutter.

The incident occurred as the victim attempted to walk past Mello. Based on witness statements and evidence at the scene, Mello was arrested on-site.

Detectives with the Nashua Police Criminal Investigations Division are continuing the investigation.

Mello is being held on preventative detention pending his arraignment at the 9th Circuit – District Division – Nashua Court on May 28 at 1:00 p.m.
