Barre woman faces DUI, negligent operation charges after erratic I-89 driving

RICHMOND — A Barre woman was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence and grossly negligent operation after Vermont State Police received reports of erratic driving on I-89 Southbound near Richmond.

On May 26, at about 12:45 p.m., VSP Williston began fielding multiple calls concerning a vehicle that was being driven erratically on I-89 Southbound.

Callers soon reported the vehicle was heading northbound in the southbound lanes.

The vehicle eventually corrected its course and was clocked at speeds exceeding 90 mph.

Ericka A. Clark, 51, was later located by troopers in the parking lot of Crossroads Beverage & Deli in Waterbury.

Upon responding to the scene, indicators of impairment were observed by the officers.

Clark was subjected to a roadside investigation which led to her arrest on suspicion of DUI.

She was taken to the Williston Barracks for processing and later released with a citation to appear in Chittenden County Superior Court to respond to charges of DUI #1 and Grossly Negligent Operation.
