Naugatuck police probe untimely death after shooting

NAUGATUCK — The Naugatuck Police Department is investigating an untimely death following a shooting incident that took place last night on Goldfinch Lane.

Officers were called to the scene at approximately 9 p.m. on May 25 after reports of a gunshot at a local residence.

Upon arrival, they found one individual deceased and another injured.

The injured party was promptly taken to a nearby hospital with injuries deemed non-life-threatening.

The Connecticut State Police Western District Major Crime Squad has been called in to assist with the investigation and has processed the scene.

Authorities have confirmed that the area is secure and there is no ongoing threat to the community.

The Naugatuck Police Department will release more information as the investigation progresses.
