Motorcycle eludes Vermont State Police, public’s help sought

BURLINGTON — Vermont State Police are requesting the public’s assistance to locate a motorcyclist who fled from law enforcement on May 25.

At approximately 7:58 p.m., a trooper observed a motorcycle being operated negligently near Exit 13 on I 89 South.

When the officer attempted to initiate a traffic stop, the motorcyclist acknowledged the trooper’s presence but then accelerated away at a high speed.

The trooper did not pursue the motorcycle for safety reasons.

The motorcycle, a red model of unknown make, was missing a registration plate.

The rider was described as wearing a silver helmet, a black and purple motorcycle jacket, and dark pants.

Authorities have released a photograph of the motorcycle and are seeking information from anyone who might recognize the vehicle or the operator.
