BREWER — Brewer Police Department officers apprehended a 22-year-old woman at a local hotel on May 23 for multiple charges including drug trafficking and possession of a stolen firearm.

The investigation, led by Officer Mikayla Rose, identified the suspect as Shanika Littlefield, a transient with three active arrest warrants.

Her charges encompassed Aggravated Trafficking in Scheduled Drugs, Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine, Violation of Release Conditions, and Criminal Forfeiture of Property.

Additionally, Littlefield was subject to two sets of bail conditions that prohibited criminal conduct.

Upon learning that Littlefield was suspected to be at the Vacationland Inn with a firearm and involved in drug trafficking, Brewer police officers and Penobscot County Sheriff’s Deputies coordinated to detain six individuals outside the hotel.

Among those detained was Littlefield, who was found in possession of a stolen firearm along with quantities of fentanyl and cocaine base.

A search warrant executed for Littlefield’s hotel room led to the seizure of further evidence.

The severity of the charges against Littlefield was heightened due to the large amount of drugs found, the proximity of the Inn to a drug-free safe zone, and her possession of a firearm.

Littlefield was transported to the Penobscot County Jail and charged with Aggravated Trafficking in Scheduled Drugs (Class A), a charge intensified by the aforementioned factors.

Officer Rose additionally charged her with violation of her release conditions.

Further information may be disclosed as the investigation continues.
