SPRINGFIELD — In a late-night operation, Springfield Police apprehended two individuals on active arrest warrants following a traffic stop on May 20.

Cpl. Perkins of the Springfield Police Department initiated the stop after spotting a vehicle departing from a Reed Street address known for drug activity around 11:15 p.m.

A subsequent DMV check revealed that the vehicle’s owner, Joshua Pelton, had an outstanding in-state cite and release warrant from Rutland County.

During the traffic intervention, Pelton was identified as the driver and, upon warrant confirmation, was issued a citation.

Stephanie Koske, a passenger in the vehicle, was also found to have an active in-state arrest warrant from Windham County.

Koske was taken into custody and later transported to the Springfield Police Department for processing.

Pelton is scheduled to appear before the Vermont Superior Court, Criminal Division, Rutland Unit, at 12:30 p.m. on May 21 to respond to the warrant.

Koske is set to appear at the same time before the Windham Unit of the Vermont Superior Court.

Unable to post the $200 bail, Koske was lodged at the Southern State Correctional Facility.
