Two arrested in East Greenwich for reckless driving, DUI charges in separate incidents

EAST GREENWICH — Troopers arrested an 18-year-old Coventry man late last night for reckless driving, marking his first offense.

The arrest occurred after a vehicle stop on Route 95 in East Greenwich.

Shawn Herlihy of 21 Florida Avenue was taken into custody at 8:52 p.m. and transported to the barracks for processing.

He was held overnight as a bail violator and is awaiting arraignment at Third District Court this morning.

In a separate incident, Rachel McClung, 47, of 176 Scenic Drive, North Kingstown, was arrested early this morning on charges of driving under the influence of intoxicating liquor/drugs and refusing a chemical test, both first offenses.

The arrest followed a traffic stop on East Avenue in Warwick at 12:45 a.m.

McClung was taken to the barracks, processed, arraigned by a Justice of the Peace, and released into the custody of a responsible adult.
