Boston police arrest two in East Boston drug bust

BOSTON — Officers from the Boston Police Department’s Drug Control Units, in collaboration with the Massachusetts State Police Suffolk County Drug Squad, arrested two men on drug trafficking charges Thursday morning in East Boston.

At about 10:51 a.m., following a six-month investigation, authorities executed search warrants at a residence on 77 Brooks Street, leading to the arrest of Santiago Alzate, 30, and Martin Alzate, 57.

During the search, officers recovered 45 grams of cocaine, multiple plastic bags and approximately $1,751 in cash.

The suspects, both residents of East Boston, are facing charges that include trafficking of class B, possession with intent to distribute class B, and distribution of class B drugs.

They are scheduled to be arraigned in East Boston District Court.
