Suspect arrested after South Boston shooting incident

BOSTON — Members of the Fugitive Unit arrested Joseph Flynn, 39, of Brighton, on Wednesday in connection with a shooting incident in South Boston.

Flynn was apprehended near 19 Farrington Avenue and was wanted on warrants for assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, and assault with a dangerous weapon.

The original incident occurred on Thursday, April 11, at about 8:35 p.m. Officers from District C-6 responded to a report of a person shot near 142 D Street.

Upon arrival, they found an adult female victim with a gunshot wound.

She was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Flynn is expected to be arraigned in South Boston District Court.
