High-speed chase in Providence leads to arrest

PROVIDENCE — Troopers from the Lincoln Woods Barracks made an arrest for eluding law enforcement after a high-speed chase in Providence.

At 1:02 a.m., troopers arrested Exequiel Martinez, 27, of Central Falls, for a series of charges including Eluding Law Enforcement in High-Speed Pursuit – First Offense; Reckless Driving – First Offense; Driving Under the Influence of Liquor – BAC .08 – .10 – First Offense; Obstructing a Police Officer; and Resisting Arrest.

The arrest came after a vehicle pursuit that started on Route 6, in Providence, and concluded on South Main Street, in Coventry.

Martinez was transported to the State Police – Lincoln Woods Barracks, processed, and held overnight, pending arraignment at Sixth Division District Court.
