Driver faces DUI charge after I-89 crash in Montpelier

MONTPELIER — A single-vehicle crash on the Interstate 89 Southbound exit ramp led to a DUI arrest for a Sheffield man on May 22.

At 7:47 p.m., Troopers from the Berlin Barracks were called to the scene near Exit 8.

The driver, identified as 55-year-old Corey Raymond, was transported to Central Vermont Medical Center following the incident.

While at the hospital, authorities noted signs of impairment.

After evaluation, Raymond was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence.

He was subsequently issued a citation to appear in Washington County Superior Court – Criminal Division.

Raymond was released pending his future court appearance.
