Lebanon police warn of scammer impersonating department, soliciting money

LEBANON — The Lebanon Police Department warned citizens about a scammer falsely claiming to represent the department and using its official phone number to solicit money and advise of fraudulent warrants.

According to the police, these calls are not legitimate and the public should not provide any personal or financial information over the phone.

The department advises always verifying the legitimacy of any law enforcement organization before disclosing personal or financial details.

The Lebanon Police Department is actively investigating the issue and taking steps to prevent further incidents.

They urge anyone with information about the scam or who has received such a call to contact them directly at 603-448-1212.
