SPRINGFIELD — A local man was apprehended on Thursday evening by Springfield police, facing charges as a fugitive from justice following a traffic stop at a convenience store.

Springfield Police Department officers arrested Christopher Lee, after identifying him as the owner of a vehicle parked at the Circle K on 14 Missing Link Road around 1830 hours.

Officer Guzzo, on patrol duty, ran a registration check that revealed Lee had an outstanding warrant from New Hampshire.

The traffic stop, initiated at 1832 hours, led to Lee’s arrest just two minutes later, at 1834 hours.

New Hampshire authorities confirmed they would extradite Lee, who was taken into custody without incident.

Lee is scheduled to appear before the Vermont Superior Court, Criminal Division, in White River Junction, on May 20 at 12:30 p.m.

He is currently being held at Southern State Correctional Facility with bail set at $25,000 cash or surety.
