Southbridge drug raid yields cocaine and firearms, two arrested

SOUTHBRIDGE — Detectives from the Southbridge Police Department, along with members of the United States Postal Inspection Service, conducted a federal search warrant at a local residence Friday, resulting in the seizure of drugs and firearms and the arrest of two individuals.

The operation took place at 88 Alpine Drive after a month-long investigation into drug trafficking within the community.

Authorities discovered two kilograms of suspected cocaine, a firearm, multiple high-capacity magazines, including a 50-round drum, and over 100 rounds of ammunition.

Lopez, 26, residing at the Alpine Drive address, faces multiple charges including trafficking in cocaine over 200 grams, possession of a firearm without a license, possession of a large capacity firearm and its improper storage, three counts of possessing a large capacity feeding device, and unlawful possession of ammunition without a license.

Kassandra Gonzalez, also 26 and of the same Alpine Drive location, was charged with trafficking in cocaine over 200 grams.

Both suspects are being held at Southbridge Police Headquarters with bail set at $50,040 cash.
