Pedestrian killed in Waterbury hit and run, police seek 2003-2007 Honda Accord

WATERBURY — A pedestrian was struck and killed in a hit and run accident early Thursday morning, according to the Waterbury Police Department.

At 2:12 a.m., police officers responded to a report of a motor vehicle accident at 62 Chase Avenue.

Upon arrival, they discovered an adult male pedestrian who had been hit by a vehicle.

The victim was transported to a local hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

The vehicle involved in the incident fled the scene after striking the pedestrian.

Investigators have since identified the suspect vehicle as a four-door Honda Accord, model years 2003 to 2007, with potential front-end damage and possibly missing the driver’s side mirror.

The Waterbury Police Department’s Crash Reconstruction Unit (CRU) is actively investigating the fatal accident.

Authorities are appealing to the public for any information related to the incident or the whereabouts of the suspect vehicle.
