PROVIDENCE — A Providence man was taken into custody Friday morning after a routine traffic stop led to the discovery of an outstanding warrant for his arrest.

At 10:55 a.m. on May 19, Rhode Island State Troopers arrested Wilfredo Urbina Delgado, 40, of 72 Hanover Street, Apt. 2, on a Providence Superior Court bench warrant.

The warrant was issued for failure to appear for a pre-arraignment conference on a charge of possession of a Schedule I-V controlled substance, originally filed by the Providence Police Department.

The arrest occurred on Sprague Street after troopers pulled over Urbina’s vehicle.

He was processed at State Police Headquarters and subsequently transported to the Adult Correctional Institutions Men’s Intake Center.

Later the same day, at 5:52 p.m., troopers responded to a disturbance at Harrington Hall in Cranston, resulting in the arrest of Adham Floyd, 25, of 30 Howard Avenue, Cranston.

Floyd faces charges of simple assault, disorderly conduct, and a Sixth Division District Court bench warrant for failing to appear at a pretrial conference on an original charge of disorderly conduct, also from the Providence Police Department.

Floyd was taken to State Police Headquarters, where he was held overnight.

He awaited arraignment and presentment as a bail violator at the Third Division District Court the following morning.

Captain David Bassignani, District “A” Commander for the Rhode Island State Police, is the media contact for these incidents.
