Fayston motorcycle crash leaves one injured, vehicles disabled

FAYSTON — A car and a motorcycle collided near Mill Brook Road & Schuss Pass on May 20, leaving one person injured and both vehicles disabled.

At 11:40 a.m., Vermont State Police from the Berlin Barracks responded to the scene of the crash.

Calvin Carbee, 18, of Newbury, was found to have lost control of his 2012 Yamaha XVS1300 Star Stryker motorcycle while heading south on Mill Brook Road.

Carbee was reportedly adjusting his dragging kickstand and inadvertently crossed the double center line, colliding with a northbound 2014 Ford Focus driven by Skylar Martell, 22, of Bristol.

The motorcycle came to an uncontrolled rest facing west, while Martell’s vehicle stopped facing south.

Carbee suffered leg injuries in the crash and was transported to UVMC for treatment.

Martell was wearing a seatbelt and did not sustain any injuries.

Neither driver showed signs of impairment according to the report.

The motorcycle sustained damage to its left side, and the Ford Focus was damaged on the front left side.

Both vehicles were removed from the scene due to the disabling damage.

State Police are continuing to investigate the incident.
