NORRIDGEWOCK — Somerset County Sheriff’s Office detectives arrested a local man on drug-related charges Friday after a search warrant was executed at his residence in an investigation into illegal marijuana cultivation.
Yibin Zhao, 55, of Norridgewock, was taken into custody and charged with cultivation of marijuana and trafficking in scheduled drugs, both Class C offenses.
The raid, which took place on May 17, targeted a property suspected of being used for growing marijuana plants unlawfully.
Zhao is currently being held at the Somerset County Jail pending a court appearance.
The Sheriff’s Office has not released further details about the size of the operation or the amount of drugs seized.
