Berkshire man arrested for aggravated assault with brass knuckles

BERKSHIRE — Vermont State Police arrested a Richford man early Thursday on charges of aggravated assault after he allegedly attacked a woman with brass knuckles the previous night.

Authorities reported that the incident occurred near the intersection of VT Route 105 and Montgomery Road.

Stewart Arbuckle, 34, is accused of assaulting Danna Shover, 39, also a Richford resident.

Police were informed about the assault at 3:03 a.m. and responded to the scene.

Following the investigation, police determined that Arbuckle used brass knuckles to assault Shover around 10 p.m. Wednesday.

Arbuckle has been held without bail pending further legal action.

The Vermont State Police have not released additional details about the motive or the current condition of the victim.

The case remains under investigation.
