WORCESTER — Worcester Police Department’s Crime Gun Intelligence Unit, accompanied by a Gang Unit officer and two ATF agents, arrested two individuals and recovered two firearms on May 14 at about 9 p.m.

The officers were patrolling the area of Reservoir St in response to a recent ShotSpotter alert when they spotted two males who matched the description of suspects from an earlier shooting incident at the same location.

Upon approaching the duo, officers noticed 19-year-old Christopher Vazquez, who was wearing a fanny pack, behaving suspiciously.

A frisk of the fanny pack revealed what seemed to be a loaded handgun.

Similarly, the second suspect, a 17-year-old male, was found to be carrying what appeared to be a loaded firearm.

Neither Vazquez nor the juvenile suspect had the necessary licenses to carry firearms.

They were both arrested and charged with carrying a loaded firearm without a license, carrying a firearm without a license, possession of a large capacity firearm, and possession of ammunition without an FID card.

Vazquez faces an additional charge of possession of a large capacity feeding device.
