Somerville police investigate early morning shooting, one injured

SOMERVILLE — Police are investigating an early morning shooting on Sunday that left one person injured and caused damage to nearby properties.

At around 2:58 a.m., officers responded to reports of gunfire on Memorial Road.

Upon arrival, they discovered a victim with two non-fatal gunshot wounds.

The individual was promptly transported to a local hospital for treatment.

Authorities recovered ten spent shell casings at the scene.

In addition to the injured victim, an administration building, a residence, and a vehicle were struck by stray bullets.

No other injuries were reported.

The Somerville Police Department has declared this an active investigation.
