Norwood child in stable condition after being hit by vehicle

NORWOOD — A 4-year-old child was struck by a vehicle last night on Jefferson Drive, prompting a rapid response from local emergency services.

The Norwood Police Department, along with the Norwood Fire Department, arrived at the scene around 7:30 p.m. after receiving the emergency call.

The child, whose identity has not been released, was quickly attended to and transported by the Norwood Fire Department to Norwood Airport.

Upon reaching the airport, the child was transferred to MedFlight and flown to a hospital in the Boston area for further treatment.

Authorities have confirmed that the child is currently in stable condition.

The Norwood Police Department is investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
