Manchester police arrest two after woman threatened with gun

MANCHESTER — Police arrested two men after they allegedly held a woman against her will and threatened her with a firearm at a local apartment building on May 15.

Officers responded to a distress call around 10:15 a.m. at 55 S. Main Street.

Upon arrival, they took one male into custody without incident.

The female caller was found and safely removed from the scene.

After establishing communication with another male inside the apartment, a negotiator engaged with him until he surrendered peacefully.

A search of the premises led to the discovery of a firearm.

Jamal Barnwell, 40, of Brooklyn, N.Y., faces charges of Criminal Threatening with a Deadly Weapon and Criminal Restraint.

Neil Pineda Landaverde, 36, of Manchester, was charged with Criminal Restraint and Resisting Arrest.

The investigation is ongoing, and further details will be released as they become available.
