Nashua firefighters respond to multi-unit building fire

NASHUA — Nashua Fire Rescue responded to a fire in a multi-unit building at 69 Major Drive around 4:09 p.m. on May 11.

Engine 4 was the first to arrive and found smoke coming from a 2-story occupied project-style apartment building.

Ladder Co. 1 and Co. 2 conducted searches of the affected apartment and adjacent units, confirming that all occupants had safely evacuated.

Engine Co. 4 and Engine 1 advanced attack lines and located the fire on the second floor.

Subsequent searches confirmed that everyone had evacuated the building.

The fire was brought under control within 20 minutes.

The affected apartment sustained extensive fire and smoke damage and is uninhabitable.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Nashua Fire Marshal’s Office.
