Boston police arrest Dorchester man on firearm charges in Roxbury

BOSTON — At about 2:51 a.m. Monday, May 13, officers assigned to the Anti-Crime Unit of District B-2 (Roxbury) arrested Juancel Ledesma, 20, of Dorchester, on firearm charges.

Officers responded to the area of 57 Quincy Street for a shot spotter activation for two rounds.

As officers were responding, they observed a motor vehicle driving up Quincy Street towards Warren Street.

Officers approached the vehicle and observed the vehicle attempt to back into a driveway on Quincy Street.

Officers advised the occupants for the reason of the stop and observed a right rear passenger to be kicking a bag underneath the front passenger seat.

Officers requested the occupants to exit the vehicle and conducted a pat frisk.

After further investigation, officers recovered a firearm from inside the vehicle.

The firearm was later determined to be Glock 43 with four rounds in the magazine.

Officers conducted a query of the firearm’s serial number which showed it to be stolen.

Ledesma was placed under arrest and charged with unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition, and receiving stolen property.

He is expected to be arraigned in Roxbury District Court.
