East Millinocket police execute search warrants in ongoing theft investigation

EAST MILLINOCKET — Two search warrants were carried out by the Lincoln Police Department with assistance from the East Millinocket Police Department on May 9, as part of an investigation into alleged theft by Harold “Chip” Lamson.

The first warrant took place at 7 Lee Road in Lincoln, and the second at 11 Tamarack Street in Millinocket.

The searches are connected to an ongoing criminal inquiry involving Lamson, who is under investigation for Theft by Misapplication of Property, a violation of the State of Maine Criminal Code.

According to authorities, Lamson, associated with Lamson’s Funeral Home, is suspected of misappropriating funds from funeral trusts.

Multiple victims have come forward, and law enforcement officials believe there may be additional individuals affected by the alleged misconduct.
