Westminster man charged with unlawful restraint, assault

WESTMINSTER — A 72-year-old man was arrested and charged with unlawful restraint and simple assault after Vermont State Police responded to an incident on Westminster West Road.

Police arrived at the scene on May 10 at 12:24 p.m. following a report of an individual being held down by the accused, David Clark, at his Westminster residence.

The investigation revealed that Clark had unlawfully restrained Richard Todd on his property.

Following the incident, Clark was taken into custody and processed at the Westminster State Police Barracks.

He was later released with a criminal citation.

Clark is scheduled to appear at the Vermont Superior Court, Windham Criminal Division, on June 25 at 8:30 a.m. to answer to the charges.
