New London police investigate shots fired on Blackhall and Prest streets

NEW LONDON — New London police responded to a report of gunfire in the area of Blackhall St. and Prest St. on Thursday at about 5:36 p.m.

Officers arriving at the scene found evidence confirming that shots had been fired.

The Investigative Services Division was called in, and an involved vehicle was located and is being examined as part of the investigation.

The area was thoroughly searched, and the scene processed for further clues.

No injuries have been reported in connection with the incident, which is believed to be targeted and not a random act of violence.
