DIXMONT — Maine State Police successfully located an 82-year-old man from Wolfeboro, New Hampshire, who was reported missing after he failed to return home from a fishing trip on May 8.
The Wolfeboro Police Department notified authorities at approximately 11:13 p.m. that the man had not been seen since 4:00 p.m. that day.
He was last known to be heading home from Hampton, New Hampshire.
In a coordinated effort, Maine State Police troopers and Wolfeboro dispatchers utilized Verizon’s frequently updated cell phone data to track the man’s whereabouts.
The search culminated in the discovery of the gentleman in his vehicle on Route 7 in Dixmont at around 4:00 a.m.
Following his location, the man, identified only as Thomas, was transported to a local medical facility for evaluation.
His family was promptly notified of his whereabouts and were reunited with him shortly thereafter.
The Maine State Police extended their gratitude to the Wolfeboro New Hampshire Police personnel for their dedication and assistance in the successful resolution of this case.
