Derby man arrested for abuse prevention order violation

DERBY — A local man was arrested Wednesday evening for allegedly violating an abuse prevention order, according to Vermont State Police.

At about 7:45 p.m., police responded to a report of a violation in Derby.

An investigation indicated that Jason Cloutier, 42, of Derby, had breached the terms of an active final Relief from Abuse Order.

Cloutier was taken into custody and processed at the Vermont State Police Derby Barracks.

He was then lodged at Northern State Correctional Facility pending further legal action.

The Vermont State Police did not release any information about the victim, in line with policies protecting the identities of victims of sexual assault or domestic violence.
