Teen arrested in Worcester shooting, victim hit while driving

WORCESTER — A 16-year-old male has been arrested in connection with a shooting that left a man wounded on Paine Street, according to the Worcester Police Department.

The teen, whose name has not been released due to his age, faces charges including armed assault to murder, possession of a loaded firearm without a license to carry, and possession of ammunition without a Firearms Identification (FID) Card.

Police responded to a call on April 30 at about 9:01 p.m. after a vehicle had reportedly struck a house on Paine Street.

Officers found that the male driver had been shot.

He was promptly taken to a local hospital, where he is currently receiving treatment for his injuries.

The Worcester Police Department continues to investigate the incident and urges anyone with information to come forward.
