GREENWICH — Greenwich Police Department officers arrested five individuals, including four juveniles, following a series of motor vehicle thefts early this morning.

At around 3:30 a.m., police were alerted to the theft of a 2018 BMW X1 on Scott Rd.

Officers spotted the BMW, along with a stolen Honda Civic and Jeep Cherokee, traveling south on North Street.

The Jeep sustained damage and was abandoned on Clapboard Ridge Road.

Despite initial attempts to flee, four suspects were found by the GPD Drone Unit in the woods on South Stanwich Road.

The fifth, identified as Alex Gutama of Danbury, CT, was apprehended nearby.

The suspects, three from Danbury and one from Brookfield, face charges of motor vehicle larceny and conspiracy, among others.

Gutama, who posted a $25,000 bond, is additionally charged with risk of injury and is scheduled for a court appearance on May 22.

The juveniles are set to appear at Bridgeport Juvenile Court on May 9.
