BRATTLEBORO — A local man was arrested Tuesday morning on several felony charges, Vermont State Police said.

Justin Hale, 40, was taken into custody on Putney Road at around 10 a.m. after an ongoing investigation linked him to drug and weapons violations.

Police charged Hale with possession of heroin in excess of 200 milligrams, being a person prohibited from possessing firearms, possession of a dangerous weapon during the commission of a felony, and possession of stolen property.

The arrest followed a traffic stop on March 15 that led to the issuance of a search warrant, which ultimately resulted in the discovery of the illicit items.

According to authorities, Hale was found in possession of additional heroin at the time of his arrest.

No resistance was reported during Hale’s apprehension, and he was processed at the Westminster Barracks.

He was released on a criminal citation and is scheduled to appear before the Windham County Superior Court on June 25 at 8:30 a.m.
