Poultney man arrested on domestic assault charge

POULTNEY — A 74-year-old Poultney man was arrested May 4, after allegedly assaulting a household member, according to Vermont State Police.

Troopers from the Rutland Barracks responded to a call of a family fight on Bird Street at approximately 3:58 p.m.

After an investigation, authorities determined that Mario Mesiti had caused pain or injury to a family or household member.

Mesiti was taken into custody and transported to the Rutland Barracks for processing.

He was issued conditions of release and is scheduled to appear at Vermont Superior Court, Rutland Criminal Division on May 6 at 12:30 p.m.

In line with their policy, the Vermont State Police have not released the name of the victim.
